Well, we thought we knew. Our experience told us that we understood what was going down. It was easy to reason that the weather guys and gals only get it right about 50% of the time. I heard people say, “If it comes (and we really don’t think it will), it won’t be so bad. We’ve done this a bunch of times before.” I know that I thought I was ready for it. Thought that I’d enjoy it. I even said so at worship last week.

Making up for lost time. . . a lesson in lunacy

Well, I am moving into the action side of the "coming out of slumber". And I'm working to do the impossible. You know the phrase we use, even though using it makes us look like we can't think straight or are just idiots. Here's the phrase: "Making up for lost time."

We can't do that. Time that is lost is. . . lost. We don't get a do-over in this life. But I thank God we can start over. There is the place for beginning again. But we can't make up for lost time. It's gone bye bye. Forever.

Well, it is happening. And the fruit will be evident. I'm coming out of slumber. More like a hibernation. And that would be ok, but I'm not a bear. . . just don't ask my boys about my behavior when they were younger! Maybe I was a bear and didn't know it.
