ePromoter  2011

Thursday, September 8

(If you don't see the current date, "REFRESH" your page)

Check your mailbox this week for 2 letters from Covenant:

#1 is from your Family Ministry explaining the new format & schedule for this ministry.  Here's a reminder of what is available on Sunday mornings:

9:00 – 10:30 AM – Biblical Foundations

Your children will have the opportunity to grow in their knowledge of God’s word through the participation in our AWANA program for children 2 years -6th grade.

10:30 – 11:00 AM – “How to” through modeling

We desire to have our children be part of worship so they can be part of the body and experience the body in prayer, worship as well as the elements of the Lords Supper or Baptism. Children will worship as a group or with their families based on the desires of each family.

11:00 – 11:45 AM – “How to” practical skills

Practical How to’s, explain my faith, grow spiritual fruit, worship, navigate God’s Word and many other how to’s in order for children to live victoriously.

#2 is a letter from our church leadership and includes the 2011-2012 Narrative Budget mailed out for your review.

As you prepare for Sunday:  September 11 is a date of infamy that reminds the whole world of the horrors and pains of violence.
It is also a time for sober reflection on the meaning of life, on human aspirations, and on the power of selfishness.
But 9/11 is also a beautiful reminder of the spirit of humans helping others, of forgetting usual social barriers in order to help someone, of a collective spirit of bravery and determination overcoming our greatest fears. To honor the selfish, heroic actions by thousands on this date may we be people of kindness, helpfulness, showing servant hearts. Think of how you and your family may practice that spirit during this weekend. Giving blood; serving at a soup kitchen; making a meal for someone in need, regardless of age or ethnicity;  ask someone of a different culture or religion or race “Teach Me Who You Are”;  contact family members or friends you have not spoken to in a long time, perhaps  mending some fences.
May God grant to all people the determination to dwell in mutual respect and non-violence.
