God's DNA
I never really thought about God having DNA, since He has no beginning. But when I got to thinking that all life comes from God [John 1:3] and that nothing exists that wasn’t created, I realized that God has been passing along a lot of His nature in His creation. After all, we are called the “children of God and such we are—[I Jn 3:2].”
God values a servant heart because it is the kind of heart He has. Everything we know about God is about giving, loving, communicating, saving, providing, promising, being faithful etc. Can you think of something God does that does not meet needs? Even His holiness meets a need in that it reveals for us our need of a Savior. From the names of God to the miracles of God, He reveals Himself to be a God Who has a servanthood DNA. It is part of His nature. Jesus always acted according to His nature and He called Himself the servant of all. And since we are the children of God, we have His nature and therefore we have the DNA of servanthood. We are like our Father. I Jn 4:17 “as He is so also are we in this world.” He gives us the DNA of servanthood when we are born again into His family. Just as He makes us new, pure, holy; He makes us to have a servant’s heart. God has a servanthood DNA.
